Established by Rush Hour co-founder Christiaan Macdonald and Delsin founder Marsel van der Wielen, Forever Records places heartfelt faith in a carefully curated sequence of seminal, largely forgotten records from disparate eras, scenes and spaces within electronic music history. Tipped towards the mellow and introspective, these are albums that stop time when the needle hits the groove, stirring only when it's time to flip over before you sink back into the experience. That's what albums were always meant to be about, back then, right now, always and forever.



The Release:
Striking the sweet spot between sampledelic downtempo and earth-rooted deep house, Fila Brazillia's Old Codes New Chaos is a maverick patchwork of grooves and soundscapes. Crafted in North East England in the vibrant period before chill-out was co-opted by advertising, Steve Cobby and Dave McSherry's sharp-eared funk formula remains a cult classic suite of exquisite productions spanning deep house, broken beat and ambient shot through with wry humour.
Last physically released in limited quantities in 2002, Forever Records are revisiting this 1994 gem with an extensive reissue led by a triple vinyl pressing. As well as a new LP edition of the album, there will also be a uniquely numbered, limited edition housed in a gatefold sleeve that comes with a bonus 10" featuring two previously unreleased tracks.

'Chemistry' and 'Rankine', plus an exclusive print of Catherine Brennand's watercolour painting that graces the front of the album. All editions also features liner notes by veteran music journalist John McCready.

The definitive 1998 True Metal Masterpiece - reissued on red vinyl!

For decades, Dan Penn’s mid 60s Muscle Shoals demos were the Holy Grail among southern soul fans, feted by the likes of Rick Hall and Jerry Wexler as being better than the hit versions. When they finally became accessible to all, 40-plus years after they were recorded, they turned out to be just as good as had been stated.

Further acclaim awaits the recent discovery by Soul-4-Real of two more demo masterpieces, written and performed by Dan and Spooner Oldham while working in Memphis at American Studio in 1967-68. The tape box shows who they were intended for, and it’s a real shame that James Carr never recorded either as both would have been perfect for him. At least we got to hear fine versions of “Cheaters Never Win” from Tony Borders and Bobby Boseman in due course. The lovely “I’m Believing In You” seems to exist only in the version you hear here.

New ‘old’ music from Dan is always worth hearing and having. These wonderful performances are no exception…

The first OM album, Variations on a Theme, features Al Cisneros bass, vocals and Chris Hakius drums. It was produced by OM and originally released in 2005 on Holy Mountain. Variations on a Theme is comprised of three long songs employing a series of rhythmic chants whose cadence-like textural drive conveys flight. Recorded with Billy Anderson.

First released in 1976, "Metallic K.O." was the fourth album from IGGY & THE STOOGES, a classic, memorable recording of the Stooges confrontational last gig. The Stooges had not been heard since "73"s "Raw Power", and the sound of kamikaze Iggy in between new songs dodging eggs and glasses thrown by Hell"s Angels gave him a new audience in the embryonic punk crowd. It defined Iggy as a punk originator, sold 100k+ and become the Stooges best-selling album. Previously re-issued as an extended, two-CD set with two complete shows (FREUDCD070), it"s now been condensed down to the exact original album edit that shocked and inspired so many. In the 2007 remastering from the original tapes an original tape-speed fault was found - now for the first time the album can be heard in the correct pitch! Mana is the International Anthem debut by trombonist and composer Kalia Vandever. The collection carries the spirit of their first solo album, We Fell In Turn, while entering a new landscape of spacious songwriting. Mana, which in Hawaiian means "foundational, supernatural, or divine power and strength", reveals more of their voice and words, drawing from yearning, loss, and bewilderment. Vandever"s music has quickly and widely gained traction in the last few years despite the fact that their style has been consistently difficult to pin down, boasting a compositional scope ranging from the palatial modern jazz of their quartet work to the synthetic, gauze-like droning ambience of their solo material. Mana leans into the expansion of the latter: solo trombone filtered through a well-dialed pedalboard, manipulated live; spare piano à la the late-career work of Ryuichi Sakamoto; electroacoustic interplay simultaneously echoing and transforming the long-note melodicism of Vandever"s melancholic brass work; head-on, unambiguous, and deeply personal lyricism - a particularly fresh move for the composer... Helping to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his debut LP, Matthew & Son, released in 1967 via Deram, Third Man Records along with producer Jack White are pleased to announce two new and as of yet unreleased renditions of the earliest singles from Yusuf "Cat Stevens" Islam's vibrant and storied catalog. The project signals more of what's to come from the Blue Room Sessions series. Recorded at label headquarters this past September, the songs find new life with arrangements that are pensive and potent, sharpened by time on the road. The results are far and away a testament to the hustle and vision of all involved.

The second OM album, Conference of the Birds, also features Al Cisneros and Chris Hakius, with production by OM, originally released in 2006 on Holy Mountain. With Billy Anderson (of the Melvins, among others), they deliver an intelligent, hypnotic doom drone album featuring elements of dub and psychedelia, alongside monotonous vocals. French-born, London-based composer and musician Pascal Bideau aka Akusmi announces his second full-length Terra Incognita, an album of intrepid sonic exploration that delights in the sensation of being somewhere you've never been before. The listener is invited to experience seven faraway sonic imaginariums, as global and spiritual jazz are fused with modern electronics and life affirming minimalism into a hypnotic, polyrhythmic odyssey.

The album's rich multilayered sound world features contributions from tabla virtuoso Sarathy Korwar, Senegalese musician Dudú Kouate adds an array of percussions, ngoni and flutes and Levitation Orchesta's Marysia Osu brings harp and flutes. Following Akusmi's widely acclaimed debut album Fleeting Future (2022) which was supported by The Guardian, The Quietus, MOJO , Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs etc, this time, the sound palette for Terra Incognita is more vibrant, earthy and abundant, drawing inspiration from the radiating optimism and high-energy sources heard in Afrobeat, Highlife and Electronic Afro-pop music, sounding looser, free and primarily interested in raw sensations

Originally released in 2003, With A Heartbeat brings together Pharoah Sanders, Bill Laswell and Graham Haynes in a collaboration that remains as elusive as it is forward-thinking. Now reissued by Glossy Mistakes, the album receives its first official vinyl edition, remastered and available both in standard black and a limited burgundy pressing.

At the core of the record lies an unusual but striking element: the steady pulse of a human heartbeat. Rather than a conceptual gesture, it becomes the foundation of the music itself-treated as a deep, bass-like rhythm that anchors the entire album. Around it, Laswell builds his unmistakable sonic world, drawing from dub techniques where basslines expand, dissolve, and re-emerge, and where space becomes as important as sound.
Across its extended compositions, the album unfolds slowly and deliberately. Layers of electric sitar, guitar, keyboards and subtle percussion drift in and out, creating a fluid, almost tidal movement. The heartbeat remains present throughout, grounding even the most abstract passages in something physical and immediate.

At the center stands Sanders' saxophone-searching, expansive, and deeply spiritual. His playing moves freely across the structures, at times echoing the lineage of John Coltrane, while also reaching beyond it. Alongside him, Haynes adds a complementary voice, weaving through the shifting textures.

The result is a work that resists easy definition: part spiritual jazz, part future-facing experiment, shaped by dub's sense of space and transformation. Meditative, immersive, and deeply rhythmic, With A Heartbeat unfolds like a living organism-guided not by fixed tempo, but by the pulse of life itself.

WRWTFWW Records presents the first ever vinyl release for the Startled Insects’ 1984-1985 abstract/synth-pop/post-punk/electronic run compiled into one album : The Antenna Years. The Bristol music must-have comes as a limited edition LP with astonishing artwork, liner notes and a heavyweight sleeve.
The Antenna Years compiles the independent EPs/mini-LPs the Startled Insects released in 1984 (self-titled) and 1985 (Underworld/Black Spring), with two bonus unreleased tracks that were only ever played in their live shows (W.W.W and What A Waste, both amazing).
Astonishingly futuristic when they landed in 1984, the Startled Insects sounded like they came from another planet while staying rooted in Bristol’s underground. Abstract electronic, leftfield synth-pop, dub science, gamelan heat, post-punk edge, cinematic atmosphere : The Antenna Years delivers one beautifully odd voyage into the sonic unknown.

In the 90s, the band released two albums, including the classic Curse Of The Pheromones via Antilles New Directions (Island Records), then evolved into The Insects: film composers for BBC/National Geographic, Emmy winners, and key architects of the 90s Bristol orbit, working with Massive Attack, Goldfrapp, Tricky, and members of Portishead.

Four decades on, The Antenna Years still hits like a transmission from the future. Dive in with no fear.

‘Tippex in My Eye’, Roman Flügel’s third single with Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound, nonetheless charts exciting new territory for the prolific German producer, finding him in collaboration with London-based vocalist and songwriter, PYTKO. Already established as a member of Phantasy’s creative family following her cultishly received 2022 debut LP ‘The Way We Blush’, PYTKO searching, surrealist lyrics and performance provide perfect synthesis for Flügel’s first ever vocal collaboration.

Somewhere between digital dub and avant garde shades of electro-pop, ‘Tippex in My Eye’ slowly works a strange and spacious magic, meditating on bassweight while moving ever-forward with sparse piano and distinctly Flugelesque synthesis. Throughout, PYTKO’s enigmatic vocals intertwine with this ambitious arrangement, acting as an incantation for a brief but refreshingly strange journey.

Each of these elements are repurposed with hypnotic, psychedelic impact on an alternate ‘Dance Mix’. Immediately tapping into Flügel’s well-established nous for turning minimalism into euphoria, PYTKO herself becomes a guiding force for the dancefloor, as the track builds thrillingly toward a cosmic breakdown and dramatic release.

Roman Flügel’s ‘Tippex in My Eye (ft. PYTKO)’ will be released on Phantasy on May 15th 2026, available on limited-edition vinyl and streaming.

Angel Witch is a pioneering British heavy metal band formed in London in 1976. Together with bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon and Diamond Head, Angel Witch is a key part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM), they are recognized as a major influence on early 1980s metal, including bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.

The band lineup back then consisted of Kevin Heybourne, Kevin Riddles and Dave Hogg. Angel Witch's self-titled 1980 debut album is considered a seminal, influential work, and to this day metalheads all over the world sing along to the title track Angel Witch whenever it's played. Daichi landed in 2024 with standout versatility, effortlessly pulling almost any genre into a balearic universe, bending it to his own language.
From the proto-tropical trance of "See of Cosmic" to the loose, hard-to-pin-down house of "Dampness," somewhere between Madchester moods and an Arthur Russell-esque swing. Late-night energy runs through "You Got Me" and "Aja Aja" - the former riding a garage swing, the latter drifting further into that signature cosmic space. To close it out and ease the tempo down, Daichi moves into more disco-leaning territory with a pair of understated but heavyweight edits.

Originally released in 1990 by Happy Mondays, Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches captured the chaotic, euphoric spirit of the Madchester movement, blending indie rock, acid house rhythms and funk grooves into a sound that helped reshape British alternative music. Featuring era-defining tracks such as “Step On” and “Kinky Afro,” the record became both a commercial breakthrough and a cultural snapshot of a generation fuelled by dance culture and Northern nightlife.

More than three decades later, its grooves, attitude and genre-blurring production still resonate strongly with contemporary audiences, influencing modern indie and electronic artists alike.
